This handmade, sterling silver pendant is made with a natural stone cabochon. This beautiful, rare, shimmering green stone is Fuchsite from Russia. It's hard to tell in pictures, but this stone has a lot of sparkly character. The blue you see in the pictures, is not as evident in the hand. It is kyanite. It appears as darker spots in person. I really don't know why the lens picks up on it so readily. But, it's the glittery green which steals the show, anyway. It is primarily an emerald green with stripes of darker green.
I made this wire wrapped pendant setting with heavy sterling silver. As with all of my wire wrapped silver jewelry, the wire is not plated, filled or coated, but solid sterling silver. The triangular shape of the cabochon dictated how I chose how to wrap this. I only added a little detail some interest and left the stone to do the "talking".
