This handmade wire wrapped sterling silver pendant is made with a natural stone cabochon of rare Ocean Jasper from Madagascar. Ocean jasper is getting more and more difficult to get. I cabbed this from a very unique slab which yielded this green and lemon yellow, vivid, spotted cab. The orbs are very distinct.
I used heavy, solid sterling silver (not coated, filled or plated) wire to construct a setting with a hidden bail. The bail is large enough and sturdy enough for just about whatever you want to wear it with, but the pendant still sits and hangs very nicely. This is a new design and one I am happy to repeat especially with larger stones. The hidden bail keeps the pendant size down on this large stone.
stone ---- 46x30mm
pendant ---- 1.98" / 51mm long; 1.24" / 32mm wide
bail ---- 8x12mm
This does not include a chain or cord.

More about Ocean Jasper:
Ocean jasper is a rare, collectable and popular stone from the north-east coast of Madagascar near the village of Morovato. Before the supply was depleted, it was found off the coast at low tide. It was always in limited supply due to the difficulty in collecting it. Ocean jasper is a type of jasper called orbicular jasper because of the orb patterns found in it. It is alternatively called an agate, as well. It has remained so popular because of the incredible colors and sometimes surreal picturescapes created by the orbs. No stone is quite like it. Ocean jasper is one of my personal favorite stones. I am constantly on the lookout to bring you the quickly disappearing higher qualities of this unique stone.
