This men's or unisex handmade, sterling silver pendant, has a very rare, wonderful, reflective, natural cabochon called Mohawkite from from the Mohawk Mine in Michigan, USA. The metallic ore which looks like highly polished silver chrome in the cabochon is mixed in billowing fashion with white quartz for great contrast. Like any high metal ore content rock, this is a little heavier than it looks, but will wear just fine.
I made this wire wrapped setting with heavy sterling silver wire- not plated, filled or coated wire. This pendant is made with heavier wire than I usually use. Most wire wrappers use a thin 22 gauge wire. I typically use a gauge two gauges thicker- this is 4 gauges thicker. I had men in mind when I made it, but I think it can be worn by a woman, as well. The silver really works with the silver in the stone.
