This handmade wire wrapped pendant incorporates a natural stone cabochon with sterling silver to create a beautiful one of a kind pendant. The stone, a Cherry Creek jasper, has a pastel geometric pattern of color with a matte finish. Cherry creek jasper, or red creek jasper, as it sometimes called, comes from China and is a relative newcomer to the lapidary world. It is famous for its abstract patterns and muted colors.
Like all of my silver jewelry, this pendant is made with solid sterling silver. It is not filled, plated or coated. I use heavier wire than most wire wrappers, too, because I love the bigger silver look and the durable security of it.

More About Jasper:
Jasper is an opaque and fine grained variety of impure Chalcedony (type of quartz). It has a hardness of 6.5-7 on the Moh's hardness scale. It is found in almost all colors. The interesting colors and patterns are caused by impurities. They can be up to 20% impure. Sometimes, those impurities will cause patterns that resemble pictures or landscapes and, as such, is then called a picture jasper. Other times they cause a variety of color and or interesting patterns or bands.
Jasper is known as a supreme nurturer.
