For this handmade sterling silver pendant, I cut this wonderful, reflective, natural cabochon from a coveted slab of very rare Mohawkite from the Mohawk Mine in Michigan, USA. The metallic ore which looks like highly polished silver chrome in the cabochon is mixed in billowing fashion with white quartz for great contrast. Like any high metal ore content rock, this is a little heavier than it looks, but will wear just fine. And, because it is a very complicated rock mixture, it has a few pits, which are to be expected and which do not distract from the pendant, at all. It is common with the material.
I made this wire wrapped setting with heavy sterling silver wire- not plated, filled or coated wire. I added some filigree-ish loops at the top for no other reason than I was compelled to do so and I think it looks nice. :)
