This handmade, sterling silver pendant is made with a natural stone cabochon. This collectable Wingate Agate aka Death Valley Plume agate is very special material. Aside from it's obvious beauty, it is quite rare. The area in Death Valley where it had been collected is now a strictly off limits military base. This cab is cut from old stash rough, and represents some of the best this material has to offer.
The plumes in this are gorgeous! If those weren't enough they are set in clear blue agate. There is very slight undercutting, meaning the polish is interrupted by very small, shallow indentations of the surface. (Very common with this material.)
I made this wire wrapped pendant setting with heavy sterling silver. As with all of my wire wrapped silver jewelry, the wire is not plated, filled or coated, but solid sterling silver. The setting does not detract from the gorgeous plumes in this stone.
