This handmade, sterling silver, wire wrapped cabochon pendant is made with a rare, natural cabochon of Larimar (blue pectolite). Larimar comes from one place in the world - the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. It is incredible to me that this rare stone is the same color as the most pristine waters of the Caribbean from whence it came. Mother Nature at her finest. This particular stone is a higher grade stone with saturated blue and light blue with no dark matrix. The color is simply phenomenal. My pictures are a hair light. You will not be disappointed. The color is tops.
Like all of my wire wrapped sterling silver jewelry, this contains solid sterling silver, not filled, plated or coated. This big, GENEROUS SIZED stone deserved a beautifully intricate and sturdy setting. So, I wrapped it in hand formed loops which hold the stone in and circled it with a wide strip of mirror finished sterling silver. The blue color is so right with silver! I added 2 faceted sterling silver beads to give this some eye catching sparkle and added a sterling silver bail.
