The handmade, copper, wire wrapped pendant you are viewing is made with a large, really flashy blue labradorite feldspar from Madagascar. The color in labradorites can be elusive, but this one is not terribly directional. I have oriented the stone for a pendant, so the color moves across the stone from side to side as it hits the light. In certain angles and light, you will not see the color, then you move and BAM! There it is. I guess you can tell, I love these stones. :) This one is even translucent when you look at it right. It's pretty cool. The labradoresence or schiller phenomenon that these stones possess is truly magical.
I used copper wire to weave wrap this large stone securely and I added a small bit of flourish near the top. I used a tiny gauge woven wire for the bail and the sides. This kind of woven wrap is time intensive and uses a lot of wire, but the finished look is sometimes just what I want. When I was finished, I added an antique patina.
